COVID-19: MORFRAC Systems calls for action!

20 March 2020

COVID-19: Morfrac Systems calls for action by temporarily suspending its activities and encourages the yachting industry to join forces against the pandemic.

In an effort to contribute to slow down the spread of the COVID-19, Morfrac Systems suspended all activities to protect staff, suppliers and customers. Morfrac hopes that the rest of the yacht industry will follow their steps.

The explosive global spread of COVID-19 took the planet by surprise. The pandemic is affecting every one of us and the yachting industry is not an exception. As a 4.0 industry our production can be controlled remotely with minimal human interaction, nevertheless for the past few weeks, at Morfrac we have been taking all the precautions recommended by the Spanish government and the WHO.

The situation is escalating fast and Spain has been hit hard. There is not much that we know about this virus, but one thing is sure: the most effective way to help individuals stay healthy and break the chain of transmission is to maximize social distance. At Morfrac we strongly believe that we can and should reconsider our priorities and contribute to raise a firewall to contain the spread of the disease.

For that reason and because the health of our team members and families is of paramount importance to us, effective Friday 20th March our offices and manufacturing facility will remain closed at least until Friday 17 April. After that, we will evaluate the situation on a weekly basis according to the development of the pandemic and the recommendations of the public authorities.

All existing orders are ready to ship and our online store will stay open at Please note that only products currently available in stock will be shipped once a week to minimise human interaction and always following Authorities’ instructions.

We encourage our friends, clients, suppliers, the sailing community and the broader yachting industry to pause their activities, allow their employees to stay at home and contribute in stopping the spread of COVID-19.
